Devicely - General FAQ
Find answers and ask for assistance.
Devicely is an advanced Shopify app that lets you create dynamic, personalized discounts based on the device used by your customers.
Unlike traditional discounts applied to everyone, Devicely lets you target specific user segments according to the device they use to browse your store.
The app automatically identifies whether a visitor is using a high-end smartphone, a budget phone, a tablet or a desktop computer, so you can offer targeted promotions that improve conversions.
Main features:
- Real-time device detection
- Unlimited discount rules
- Complete analytics dashboard
- Compatible with all Shopify themes
- No negative impact on storefront performance
Devicely solves a key modern marketing need: reaching the right customer with the right offer at the right time.
Common scenarios:
1. Increase mobile conversions:
If you see a lot of mobile traffic but low conversions, create device-specific discounts.
2. Reward premium device users:
High-end device users often convert better. Create exclusive offers for them.
3. Reach emerging markets:
In some regions most users browse on budget devices. Targeted discounts help acquisition.
4. Optimize marketing spend:
Focus discounts on segments with higher conversion potential.
5. Natural A/B testing:
Compare pricing strategies across device segments.
Devicely runs an automated process every time a visitor opens your store.
Flow:
1. Device detection:
The script analyzes device characteristics instantly and non-invasively.
2. Classification:
The device is classified as TOP (flagship), MIDDLE (mid-range), LOW_COST (budget), or OBSOLETE (old).
3. Rule matching:
Devicely checks your rules and applies discounts on matching devices.
4. Checkout integration:
The discount is carried to cart and checkout for a smooth experience.
5. Tracking:
Each conversion is recorded in Analytics.
Everything happens in milliseconds and the customer only sees the discounted price.
Devicely uses a multi-factor proprietary algorithm for high accuracy.
Signals include:
1. Screen resolution
2. Device Pixel Ratio (DPR)
3. OS version
4. CPU core count
5. GPU via WebGL
6. RAM and hardware signals
7. Client Hints on Android
Categories:
- TOP: iPhone 15/16, Galaxy S23/S24, Pixel 8/9, MacBook M1/M2/M3
- MIDDLE: iPhone 12/13/14, Galaxy A54, Nothing Phone, recent PCs
- LOW_COST: iPhone 11 and older, budget Android, older PCs
- OBSOLETE: iPhone 8 and older, Android below 11
Devicely’s detection accuracy is over 95%.
Why it’s accurate:
1. Multi-factor approach: multiple signals combined.
2. Continuously updated database.
3. Adaptive algorithm across browsers.
4. Smart fallback scoring.
5. Chrome UA Reduction protections.
Edge cases: very old browsers or privacy restrictions can reduce precision; Devicely falls back conservatively and logs the case to improve the catalog.
Testing the app is very simple: What device are you using right now? Whether it's a PC or smartphone, simply create a test discount rule (perhaps setting a 1€ or 1% discount) limited to your device's category and restricted to a single specific product. Then, visit that product's page and verify that the discount appears!
Devicely works flawlessly on all native Shopify themes! If you use a custom theme, there might be some "visual" issues but no "operational" ones. This is because the app might struggle to graphically identify the price to discount on the interface, but it will still smoothly apply the discount in the cart without any hitch. You'll find all the answers in the "Common Issues" section, and remember you can always open a support ticket to quickly resolve any display problem.
Devicely - Discount Rule FAQ
Find answers and ask for assistance.
Discount rules define when, to whom, and how much to discount.
Rule components: name, discount type (percentage/fixed), value, device categories, target products/collections, validity dates, and status.
Fixed discount protection: if the fixed amount exceeds some product prices, Devicely warns you and offers automatic exclusions.
With Devicely you can create an unlimited number of discount rules.
Best practices: use descriptive names, use dates for automation, monitor performance, and archive old rules when finished.
Yes. Devicely targets device tiers, not just device types.
TOP, MIDDLE, LOW_COST, OBSOLETE include both mobile and desktop where applicable.
Yes. A rule can apply to one, multiple, or all categories.
Devicely applies a clear priority: product-specific > collection > all products. For collections, the lowest discount wins.
Yes. Set start and end dates; the rule activates and deactivates automatically in your shop’s timezone.
Yes. Use the Excluded Products section in Settings.
Yes. Select Specific Products and choose the product. Product rules have the highest priority.
Yes. Collection rules apply to all products in the collection. If multiple collection rules apply, the lowest discount is used.
Devicely applies the lowest discount among collection rules to protect margins.
Devicely - Analytics FAQ
Find answers and ask for assistance.
The Devicely Analytics section provides a comprehensive overview of your store data, organized into three main areas: traffic analysis (sessions by device category, conversion funnel), Devicely discount analysis (rule performance, discounted orders detail) and export features for advanced analysis.
Important: In the first block (Traffic analysis), we show you the navigation sessions split by device category regardless of active discounts. This helps you understand how and when to create a new targeted discount.
You can filter all data by period using the date selector at the top.
View visits split by device type detected by Devicely.
Data is collected regardless of active discounts and helps you identify where to create targeted offers. Sessions are grouped into four categories: TOP (flagship), MIDDLE (mid-range), LOW_COST (budget), OBSOLETE (outdated). This data helps you understand your traffic composition and identify which user categories visit the store, indicating where to create new discount rules.
View the path from session to purchase, split by device category.
Data is collected regardless of active discounts and helps you identify where to create targeted offers. The funnel shows how many visitors from each tier (TOP, MIDDLE, LOW_COST, OBSOLETE) completed an order, allowing you to compare conversion rates across categories and identify where to create new discount rules.
Analyze the performance of discount rules in the selected period.
For each active rule you can see sessions, purchases and conversion rate. Charts and tables help you identify which rules perform best and which may need adjustments (discount value, target categories, validity period).
View all orders that used a Devicely discount in the selected period.
The list shows the order, the applied rule, the customer's device category and the discounted amount. Useful for verifying correct discount behaviour and revenue analysis.
You can export data periodically for deeper analysis in Excel or Google Sheets.
In full compliance with privacy limits, we only show aggregate traffic data related to the devices used (and whether they match a sale), but never personal user data. Devicely does not track or store sensitive customer information.
Devicely - Sales Assistant FAQ
Find answers and ask for assistance.
The Sales Assistant analyzes your data to provide targeted conversion advice. You have full access to all 8 advanced strategic alerts.
The Sales Assistant is an intelligent tool that analyzes your store's Analytics data and suggests strategic recommendations to improve conversions.
Based on sessions, purchases and rule performance, the assistant identifies improvement opportunities and guides you with concrete actions.
The assistant is always available for free and includes all 8 advanced alerts unlimitedly.
When the assistant detects optimization opportunities, it displays a banner in the Dashboard that you can follow to access the dedicated page and see the suggestions in detail.
This alert appears when there are device categories (TOP, MIDDLE, LOW_COST, OBSOLETE) with significant traffic but no active discount rule.
If a category has at least 50 sessions and no rule targets it, the assistant suggests creating a dedicated promotion to encourage purchases from that segment. It's an opportunity to avoid losing potential conversions.
This alert indicates discount rules with very low conversion rate (below 2%), despite a sufficient number of sessions.
It means the promotion attracts visits but few purchases. The assistant suggests modifying discount value, target categories or conditions to improve conversions. Try increasing the discount or narrowing the target.
This alert appears when a discount rule gets very different results on mobile vs desktop (conversion gap above 5%).
Example: the rule converts well on desktop but poorly on mobile. The assistant recommends creating dedicated rules for each device type to better personalize the discount and optimize conversions for both channels.
This alert concerns rules with very high conversion (over 70%).
If a promotion converts that well, the discount may be higher than necessary. By slightly reducing the discount you can increase margins while still maintaining good conversions. The assistant helps you find the right balance between discount and profit.
This alert appears when a rule suffers a drop in conversion rate (e.g., halved compared to the previous week).
It may indicate a loss of interest or better offers from competitors. The assistant suggests creating a limited flash promotion to reactivate the interest of the target segment.
This alert triggers when the assistant notices that over 40% of orders from a certain device category (e.g., TOP) occur on a single day of the week.
It suggests limiting promotions to that specific day only to maximize FOMO (fear of missing out) and avoid giving away discounts during the rest of the week.
This alert appears if you have set a fixed discount (e.g., -€15) and the assistant notices that this amount represents more than 30% of the average order value for that rule.
It means the discount is heavily eroding your margins. The suggestion is to switch to a percentage discount to protect profits on low-value carts.
This alert is shown when TOP devices (high-spending users) have an abnormally low average order value (e.g., under €40).
The assistant points out that these users might be exploiting the discount to buy only cheap accessories. The advice is to restrict the use of the rule only to premium collections (up-selling).
Devicely - Common Issues FAQ

Follow the onboarding wizard, activating the dynamic discount first and then the app embed for your theme. After that, you can create your first rule in Settings and test it in an incognito window.
Yes. Customize colors, loader style/alignment, and set custom selectors for premium themes.
Loader: Enable the Loader, choose the style, alignment and colors.
Check: App Embed enabled, rule active, valid dates, correct device category, product not excluded, browser cache, target matches.
Because the script needs a few seconds to analyze the device used by the customer.
Check discount type, rounding, original price, rule priority, and variants. If fixed discount exceeds some product prices, Devicely can auto-exclude those products.
Open a support ticket and include details, screenshots, and your store URL.
If you use a non-native Shopify theme, there might be minor visual-only bugs on the product page interface. Don't worry: the app will still work properly by applying the correct discount to the cart and checkout! By opening a support ticket, we can configure the right selectors for you and quickly fix the display on your theme.
Devicely - AI Assistant (Jeff) FAQ
Find answers and ask for assistance.
Jeff is the Artificial Intelligence assistant integrated into Devicely. He has been trained to perfectly understand how the app works and the best conversion strategies. You can ask him questions about the app's functionality, have him analyze your current data (he always knows how many visits and sales you are making), and ask for targeted advice on which discount rules to create to sell more.
The use of Jeff is completely free and unlimited. You can ask him as many questions as you want to help you with your sales strategies.
No, for security reasons Jeff is strictly an advisory assistant. He has no write access, so he cannot autonomously modify, activate, or deactivate discounts, nor can he make changes to your store's code. However, he will provide you with clear step-by-step instructions on how to do it yourself.
